Instant Locs Crochet Method Definition:

Before you dive into the details of this course, it’s important to understand that the Instant Locs Method and the Dreadlock Crochet Method are the same thing. With that being said, there are many misunderstandings and miscommunications with salons who consider Crocheting Locs the same thing as Latch-hooking or Interlocking. The reason for this is because a Latch hook is also a crochet hook, just with a latch on the hook. However, the approach and the results are DRASTICALLY different and are certainly not the same thing. So what is the Instant Locs Crochet Method? The variation of the method that we use and teach to you is done by using a very tiny crochet hook to control the formation of countless tiny knots. We diversify these knots which create a cylindrical form to create the dreadlock. This is a controlled method that emulates the natural formation of the dreadlock. Benefit #1 - The biggest benefit of this approach is that you don’t have to wait months or years for your dreadlocks to mature, tighten, and fully lock up. This method achieves that in one session, hence the name “Instant Locs”, and we’ll be teaching you exactly how to crochet dreads for beginners to achieve the same results we do with this method. In contrast to The Instant Locs Crochet Method, the Interlocking or Latch hooking method grabs so much hair that it creates more of a braid because it groups so much hair together. And also, the twisting method only twists the hair, but doesn’t form knots immediately, with the twisting method the knots form over the course of months or eventually locking up over the course of years. Benefit #2 - Now that you have a greater understanding of how this method works, you should also understand that we teach you how to crochet dreads in all hair textures. No matter if you have the silkiest and straightest Asian hair or the Kinkiest and thickest African hair, this method works with it all. It’s amazing really. And as far as we are concerned, The Instant Locs Crochet Method is the ONLY method that is 100% universal for all hair textures. Within our courses we will be Crocheting Locs in Afro hair first because it’s the easiest to learn with. Then we teach you how to crochet dreadlocks in straight hair and synthetic hair, which will be more of a challenge. As you can see, we progress your difficulty level by varying hair texture but this also gives you thorough experience in varying hair textures. Section 1 - Within the course curriculum you’ll find that we give you a whole introduction section for free explaining the details on a variety of topics that address what you’ll be experiencing when crocheting locs. Our introduction section is completely free, so you should take advantage of our free content! Section 2 - The next section is all about Crocheting Locs with hands on content to teach you how to do Instant Locs for the very first time with Afro Hair. We always start with Afro hair since it is by far the easiest to work with and it’s perfect for beginners to learn now matter what hair type you’ll be working with. This section will teach you the “Fast Method” which is a term we use within our team to identify the faster results this method produces. Section 3 - The following section is all about the “Slow Method” which is a much slower variation that we use, however it’s far more precise and controlled. We use this variation to finish our work. And this is also done with Afro hair. Section 4 - The fourth section is all about working with Straight Hair and Synthetic Hair. We use the skills we give you for free in the Backcombing Course and Palm Rolling course to start the dreadlock with straight hair. Then we use the “Fast Method” and the “Slow Method” to crochet dreadlocks in straight hair. This is a bit more of a challenge for most people Section 5 - Once you have the foundational skills of how to crochet dreadlocks in various hair textures we’ll give you some training on how to use The Instant Dreadlocks Crochet Method to do root maintenance. We show you how to do this on a mannequin to emulate serving a client, and we also show you how to do this with your own dreadlocks. By completing all course content leading up to this section you will now have the skills to provide root maintenance to yourself or others via the Instant Dreadlocks Crochet Method! Section 6 - In the final section of this course we teach and discuss a variety of miscellaneous skills and topics that are important to understand. All of the items in the final section are built on the skills you learn in the first 5 sections of this course.
